Charles Ellicott Commentary Proverbs 19:16

"He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his soul; [But] he that is careless of his ways shall die." — Proverbs 19:16 (ASV)

He who despises his ways—that is, takes no heed to them, whether they please God or not.

Shall die.— Physically (1 Corinthians 11:30), spiritually ; a death to be completed in the life to come (Revelation 2:11).
