Charles Ellicott Commentary Proverbs 22:12

"The eyes of Jehovah preserve [him that hath] knowledge; But he overthroweth the words of the treacherous man." — Proverbs 22:12 (ASV)

The eyes of the Lord preserve knowledge — that is, men who know and speak the truth. (See above on Proverbs 21:28.)

He overthroweth the words of the transgressor— that is, the deceitful; He brings his lies to light.
