"Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; [But] the rod of correction shall drive it far from him." — Proverbs 22:15 (ASV)

Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child. —Self-will is meant. (See above on Proverbs 1:7.) Children have to be taught to yield their wills to others.
