"He that would restrain her restraineth the wind; And his right hand encountereth oil." — Proverbs 27:16 (ASV)
Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind— that is, you might as well try to stop the wind from blowing as seek to restrain her.
And the ointment of his right hand, which bewrayeth itself. —Rather, perhaps, and oil meets his right hand — that is, if he puts out his hand to stop her, she slips through it like oil.
