SCRIPTURE

"Put away from thee a wayward mouth, And perverse lips put far from thee." — Proverbs 4:24 (ASV)

A froward mouth. —Hebrew ‘iqqeshûth, literally, distortion, or twisting of the truth, not the same word as in Proverbs 2:12, 14.

Perverse lips—that is, that “turn aside” from the truth.
