Charles Ellicott Commentary
"Lest thou give thine honor unto others, And thy years unto the cruel;" — Proverbs 5:9 (ASV)
Your honor.— Rather, freshness, vigor.
Your years.— The best years of your life.
To the cruel.— That is the temptress herself, or her hangers-on and associates, whose sole idea is plunder.
