SCRIPTURE

"Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; On a sudden shall he be broken, and that without remedy." — Proverbs 6:15 (ASV)

Suddenly he shall be broken—Shattered as a potter’s vessel (Isaiah 30:14), without hope of recovery. This character of a malicious mischief-maker would seem to be especially hateful to God; it is described in similar terms in Psalm 64, and a similar fate foretold for it; in Proverbs 6:19, it is also held up as the very worst of the seven detestable things mentioned there.
