Charles Ellicott Commentary Psalms 105:1

"Oh give thanks unto Jehovah, call upon his name; Make known among the peoples his doings." — Psalms 105:1 (ASV)

Call upon his name. —Literally, on (or, with) his name (compare Psalms 105:3, glory in), with the idea of proclamation as well as invocation. Symmachus has “proclaim his name.” This verse, which is found word for word in Isaiah 12:4, is apparently one of the recognized doxologies of the Hebrew Church.
