"He turned their heart to hate his people, To deal subtly with his servants." — Psalms 105:25 (ASV)

Turned their heart.—So the hardening of Pharaoh’s heart is throughout the historical narrative ascribed to Jehovah. (Mark 4:12, etc.)

Deal subtly. —The reference is to the murdering of the male children (Exodus 1:10: Come and let us deal wisely with them).
