"[The covenant] which he made with Abraham, And his oath unto Isaac," — Psalms 105:9 (ASV)

Made. —Literally, cut; the usual word for making a covenant (icere fœdus). The word is therefore here a synonym for “league,” as in Haggai 2:5.
