Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"Therefore he brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was none to help." — Psalms 107:12 (ASV)
Brought down. —Literally, made them bend.
Fell down. —Better, stumbled.
The whole verse presents a picture of men staggering under the forced labour which was the usual fate of captives under the great Oriental monarchies.
