Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"My soul breaketh for the longing That it hath unto thine ordinances at all times." — Psalms 119:20 (ASV)
Breaks. —The Hebrew is peculiar to this place and Lamentations 3:16. The Septuagint, Vulgate, and Aquila have “greatly desired;” Symmachus, “was perfect;” Theodotion, “had confidence;” Jerome, “longed,” all of which point either to a different reading or to a different sense from that given in the lexicons for the word.
