Charles Ellicott Commentary
"My soul melteth for heaviness: Strengthen thou me according unto thy word." — Psalms 119:28 (ASV)
Melts —The Hebrew word is used in Ecclesiastes 10:18 of a dripping roof of a house; in Job 16:20 of weeping. The Septuagint and Vulgate have “slumbered,” which suits far better with the next clause, which is literally, make me rise up. Symmachus has “distils.”
