"Jehovah hath sworn unto David in truth; He will not turn from it: Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne." — Psalms 132:11 (ASV)

In truth. —This is a possible rendering, but it is more impressive to render, Jehovah has sworn to David. It is a true oath; He will not depart from it. . The substance of the oath which follows is taken from 2 Samuel 7:0.
