"Stretch forth thy hand from above; Rescue me, and deliver me out of great waters, Out of the hand of aliens;" — Psalms 144:7 (ASV)
Rid. —The Hebrew verb means “to tear asunder,” and is used to describe the gaping of the mouth (Psalms 22:13). The meaning here is derived from the cognate Arabic, and Syriac.
Strange children. —Literally, sons of the stranger.
