Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"My strength is dried up like a potsherd; And my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; And thou hast brought me into the dust of death." — Psalms 22:15 (ASV)
My strength. —The conjecture, “my palate,” instead of “my strength,” improves the parallelism. Others, though less aptly, “my moisture.”
The dust of death. —Compare Shakespeare’s “Macbeth:”
“The way to dusty death.”
