Charles Ellicott Commentary Psalms 23:3

"He restoreth my soul: He guideth me in the paths of righteousness for his name`s sake." — Psalms 23:3 (ASV)

Restoreth my soul — that is, refreshes, recreates, quickens.

For his name’s sake. —God’s providential dealings are recognised as in accordance with His character for great graciousness.
