Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"Hear, O Jehovah, when I cry with my voice: Have mercy also upon me, and answer me." — Psalms 27:7 (ASV)
The change of tone so marked here, from the warlike to the plaintive, leads to the supposition that Psalms 27:7-12 are interpolated from another song of a very different kind in contents, art, and period.
I cry with my voice — that is, aloud.
