SCRIPTURE

"Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah, for I am in distress: Mine eye wasteth away with grief, [yea], my soul and my body." — Psalms 31:9 (ASV)

Mine eye is consumed ... —Compare to Psalms 6:7. It was an old idea that the eye could weep itself away. It is an actual fact that the disease glaucoma is very much influenced by mental emotions.

Belly. —Better, body: both mind and body were suffering.
