SCRIPTURE

"Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him: Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass." — Psalms 37:7 (ASV)

Rest ... —Better, Hush! Be still! See margin. The good man, seeing merit unrewarded and wickedness, on the other hand, constantly successful, is tempted to become discontented. For a later echo of the poet’s thought, illuminated by Christian hope, we may refer to Coleridge’s well-known “Complaint” and its “reproof.”
