Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: Fret not thyself, [it tendeth] only to evil-doing." — Psalms 37:8 (ASV)
In any wise to do evil ... —Better, only to do evil, that is, only evil can come of it. Compare to Proverbs 14:23, tendeth only to penury.
