SCRIPTURE

"For my loins are filled with burning; And there is no soundness in my flesh." — Psalms 38:7 (ASV)

Loathsome disease. —The Hebrew word is a passive participle of a verb meaning to scorch, and here means inflamed or inflammation. Ewald renders “ulcers.” The Septuagint and Vulgate, deriving from another root meaning to be light, or made light of, render “mockings.”
