Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thy hand." — Psalms 39:10 (ASV)
Stroke. —See Note to Psalms 38:11.
Blow. —Margin, “conflict.” A word only found here; from a root meaning rough. Septuagint and Vulgate have “strength.”
Calvin’s last words are said to have been a reminiscence of this verse.
