SCRIPTURE

"These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself: [But] I will reprove thee, and set [them] in order before thine eyes." — Psalms 50:21 (ASV)

The forbearance of God (intended to give room for repentance, Romans 2:4) is misconstrued. Men come to think the Divine Being as indifferent to evil as themselves.

That I was altogether. —We might render, that I was actually.

And set them in order. —The insertion of “them,” referring back to “these things,” is rather confusing. Better supply your offences. All the sins of the wicked are marshalled before them.
