SCRIPTURE

"Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: And I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none." — Psalms 69:20 (ASV)

I am full of heaviness. —Rather, I am sick. The word here used (with its cognates), as well as that rendered pity in the next clause, are favourite words with Jeremiah, as also are the figures of the next verse. (Jeremiah 9:15; Jeremiah 23:15.)
