Charles Ellicott Commentary Psalms 7:9

"O let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish thou the righteous: For the righteous God trieth the minds and hearts." — Psalms 7:9 (ASV)

Establish. —Literally, let him stand erect.

For the righteous God trieth. —Better, you trier of hearts and reins, you just God. The Hebrew word translated try is used, like it, for testing metals (Psalms 12:6; Proverbs 17:3).
