"Thou hast abhorred the covenant of thy servant: Thou hast profaned his crown [by casting it] to the ground." — Psalms 89:39 (ASV)

Made void. — Better, cast off, as the word is rendered in Lamentations 2:7, the only other place where it occurs. There the Septuagint has “shook off;” here, “turned upside down.”
