Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"For to this end Christ died and lived [again], that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living." — Romans 14:9 (ASV)
And rose, and revived.—For these words, the best manuscripts substitute simply and lived. The Received Text is a gloss on this. It was through the resurrection that Christ was finally enthroned at His Father’s right hand, and that universal dominion was given to Him.
