Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"Or is God [the God] of Jews only? is he not [the God] of Gentiles also? Yea, of Gentiles also:" — Romans 3:29 (ASV)
Is he not also.—Insert "or." "Or are we to suppose that God is the God of (literally, belongs to) the Jews only?"—taking up the point in the last verse, that any person, simply as a human being, and without regard to distinction of race, was capable of justification.
