Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"And without being weakened in faith he considered his own body now as good as dead (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah`s womb;" — Romans 4:19 (ASV)
Considered not.—The negative should, in accordance with the evidence of the best manuscripts, be omitted. “Who, because he was not weak in faith, considered indeed—took full account of—the natural impediments to the fulfillment of the promise, and yet did not doubt.”
