"Even so reckon ye also yourselves to be dead unto sin, but alive unto God in Christ Jesus." — Romans 6:11 (ASV)

Theoretical application to the readers. They are to regard themselves as dead, that is, insensible and inaccessible to sin, but living in close allegiance and devotion to God through union with Christ.
