SCRIPTURE
"They all handle the sword, [and] are expert in war: Every man hath his sword upon his thigh, Because of fear in the night." — Song Of Solomon 3:8 (ASV)
Because of fear — that is, because of the alarms common at night. For fear in the sense of object of fear, compare Psalms 91:5; Proverbs 3:25.
