"And the man that stood among the myrtle-trees answered and said, These are they whom Jehovah hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth." — Zechariah 1:10 (ASV)

Answered. — The question which Zechariah had put to the angel-interpreter.

The earth — that is, the world, all the earth (Zechariah 1:11), not merely “the land of Israel,” as is often the meaning of the word (for example, Zechariah 13:8).
