Charles Ellicott Commentary Zechariah 9:10

"And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow shall be cut off; and he shall speak peace unto the nations: and his dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth." — Zechariah 9:10 (ASV)

Speak peace. —Not only to His own people (Isaiah 52:7), but also to the Gentiles by setting up His spiritual kingdom among them. . Compare the latter part of this verse with Psalms 72:8.

The river. —Namely, the Euphrates (Micah 7:12; Isaiah 7:20).
