SCRIPTURE

"Now, my son, Jehovah be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of Jehovah thy God, as he hath spoken concerning thee. Only Jehovah give thee discretion and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel; that so thou mayest keep the law of Jehovah thy God. Then shalt thou prosper, if thou observe to do the statutes and the ordinances which Jehovah charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; fear not, neither be dismayed." — 1 Chronicles 22:11-13 (ASV)

Now, my son, the LORD be with you; and may you prosper, and build the house of the LORD your God, as he has said of you. Only may the LORD give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the LORD your God. Then you will prosper, if you take heed to fulfill the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; do not dread, nor be dismayed.

This was addressed to a young and tender man by an old man who had displayed much courage. Those who have been courageous themselves can safely encourage others to be so. May God make us all in every good cause to be free from fear. Like Bernard, the knight, may we be "without fear, and without reproach," always contending for God and his truth.
