SCRIPTURE

"Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized into the name of Paul? I thank God that I baptized none of you, save Crispus and Gaius; lest any man should say that ye were baptized into my name. And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other." — 1 Corinthians 1:13-16 (ASV)

Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; lest any should say that I had baptized in my own name.

And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I do not know whether I baptized any other.

Paul considered that it was a providential circumstance that he had baptized no more of them, otherwise they would have boasted of being superior to those who had been baptized by others.
