Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: So that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

This is a fine trait in their character: they did look to the second Advent; it operated upon them, it helped them in many ways. We cannot now mention all the holy benefits that are found in waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but it should be a fitting description of all Christians.
