SCRIPTURE

"Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, wait one for another. If any man is hungry, let him eat at home; that your coming together be not unto judgment. And the rest will I set in order whensoever I come." — 1 Corinthians 11:33-34 (ASV)

Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another. And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.

By careful attention to the apostle's instructions, they would be able to observe the ordinance rightly; and we also may learn, from what Paul wrote, how we may come worthily to the table of our Lord.

Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another. And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.

Now let us read Luke's account of the institution of this supper; as we do so, it will be well for us to remember that Luke was a friend and intimate companion of Paul.
