Charles Spurgeon Commentary 1 Corinthians 15:6-7

"then he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep; then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles;" — 1 Corinthians 15:6-7 (ASV)

But some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

In different places, and at different hours; sometimes by one, sometimes by eleven, once by five hundred brethren at once, Jesus was seen after he had risen from the dead. As I have often said, there is no historical fact that is so well authenticated as that Jesus Christ rose from the dead.
