Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"But whoso hath the world`s goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him? [My] Little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth." — 1 John 3:17-18 (ASV)
But whoever has this world's good, and sees his brother has need and shuts up his bowels of compassion from him, how does the love of God dwell in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
Love that consists only of words is utterly worthless, if it is true love, it must prove itself by kind deeds and gracious actions.
