"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is begotten of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." — 1 John 4:7-8 (ASV)

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Where there is the spirit of enmity, of envy, of pride, of contention, there is not the Spirit of God. That which leads to love, we may be sure came forth from love; but that which leads to division, contention, emulation, and strife, is not of God, for God is love.
