"and Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel; and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room. And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth from the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay; and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay." — 1 Kings 19:16-17 (ASV)
And, Jehu the son of Nimshi you shall anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah you shall anoint to be prophet in your place. And it shall come to pass, that he who escapes the sword of Hazuel Jehu shall slay: and he who escapes from the sword of Jehu Elisha shall slay.
God heard the prayer that Elijah had prayed against Israel, for it was really a prayer against the people who had forsaken the Lord their God.
