Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which liveth and abideth." — 1 Peter 1:23 (ASV)
Not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Peter reminds us, in 1 Peter 1:18, that we were not redeemed with corruptible things, but with incorruptible; and he here reminds us that we are born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible. Everything about a Christian means his deliverance from corruption, and the bringing of him into a state of immortality and incorruption.
