"For the time past may suffice to have wrought the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in lasciviousness, lusts, winebibbings, revellings, carousings, and abominable idolatries:" — 1 Peter 4:3 (ASV)
For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, –
Suffice? O brethren, let it do much more than that! Let it make us cry, "Oh, that we had never done the will of the Gentiles at all!" Some young people foolishly say that they must have a little space in which they can see life. Ah, those of you who have been converted in later years regret that you ever saw what people call life, which is only an alias for corruption and death!
For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, –
