"Nevertheless they shall be his servants, that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries." — 2 Chronicles 12:8 (ASV)

Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.

The Lord's people were to know the difference between the service of God and the service of the kings of the countries around them. It would be a very sharp contrast, and a very bitter one.
