Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem. And the king went up to the house of Jehovah, and all the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, both great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of Jehovah." — 2 Chronicles 34:29-30 (ASV)
That was a grand Bible-reading, with a king for reader, and all his princes and all his people gathered to listen to the Word of God.
What could he have said better, had he been the greatest of orators?
To read from this blessed Book must surely be to the edification of the hearers.
