Charles Spurgeon Commentary 2 Corinthians 4:5-6

"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus` sake. Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." — 2 Corinthians 4:5-6 (ASV)

But Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts,

We cannot therefore darken the gospel, or cover it up, for God has shined in our hearts,–
