Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"But now complete the doing also; that as [there was] the readiness to will, so [there may be] the completion also out of your ability. For if the readiness is there, [it is] acceptable according as [a man] hath, not according as [he] hath not." — 2 Corinthians 8:11-12 (ASV)
That as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have. For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
This is how we should always act, see what we can do, and do it, not wait till we can do twice as much. There is a great waste of holy effort and of holy giving because so many people are ashamed to do a little, and therefore do nothing because they cannot do much. That is not the way for God's children to act. With your willing mind do what you can, and God will help you to do more.
