Charles Spurgeon Commentary Acts 2:38

"And Peter [said] unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." — Acts 2:38 (ASV)

And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

"You shall be sharers in this wonderful manifestation which has so astounded you."

And be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

Peter urged them to repent, and instructed them to confess their faith by being baptized in God's appointed way.

Then Peter said to them, Repent, Change your mind entirely, be sorry for what you have done, repudiate what you have done by a holy repentance of it: 'Repent,'.
