Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"This is he that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel that spake to him in the Mount Sinai, and with our fathers: who received living oracles to give unto us: to whom our fathers would not be obedient, but thrust him from them, and turned back in their hearts unto Egypt," — Acts 7:38-39 (ASV)
Though Moses had brought them out of Egypt, they were not obedient to him, and they wanted to go back to the land of bondage.
And, ah! brothers, this is the great crime of the present day, the crime of mankind in general, that, after all Jesus has done, there is still within so many the evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.
